If you were given the option to choose between vanilla ice cream and other flavours, you're not going to choose vanilla.

There are so many unique and better tasting flavours of ice cream than vanilla, heck even French vanilla is way better. Vanilla ice-cream is a nice tasting ice cream flavour, but name one person who says it's the best flavour. It is the prime definition of "vanilla" content.

When I think of Season 8, the first thing I think of is how bland it is. And while Season 7 has no identity, Season 8 plays everything so safely that at this point that has become it's identity. This season is factory-made and has no soul. This season doesn't feel like like it's factory made and lacks soul. Now take what I said there, and let's remove the sugarcoating. In my last review of Season 7, I complained about how the episodes mainly towards the middle felt like they were factory-made and lacked soul and overall that season had no identity. As such, this season is some of the most vanilla SpongeBob content imaginable. Season 8 of SpongeBob SquarePants had a really noticeable problem, and that is the fact that it plays itself really safe.
